ماژول سنسور اثر انگشت ZFM-70 یک حسگر اثر انگشت با پردازنده DSP سری Synochip است. این ماژول کلیه عملیات ثبت اثر انگشت، پردازش تصویر، تطابق اثر انگشت، جستجو و ذخیره سازی نمونه را انجام می‌دهد. ولتاژ کاری این ماژول بین 3.8 تا 7 ولت بوده و خروجی آن طبق پروتکل UART است. همچنین ZFM-70 قادر به ذخیره‌سازی 1000 اثر انگشت در حافظه خود می‌باشد.
در این نوع از اسکنرها، عملا یک فتوکپی از انگشت گرفته می‌شود. بسیاری از آن‌ها، نوری را به سطح انگشت می‌تابانند و توسط یک سنسور تصویر، خطوط روی انگشت را دریافت می‌کنند.
